Silver and yellow gold 333 tested. Max. approx. 43.49 x 31.36 mm. 25,2 g.
Brooch with the crowned mirror monogram of King Ludwig II (1845-1886; popularly known as the "Fairytale King" and as the builder of Neuschwanstein Castle) of Bavaria. The monogram with old-cut diamonds and diamonds set in silver in front of a blue enamelling, above, partly enameled in red, the Bavarian royal crown also set with diamonds as well as red, green and blue coloured stones, probably rubies, emeralds and sapphires. Simple hook clasp and safety chain. The design of the brooch with the king's mirrored monogram, the crown and the particularly high-quality choice of materials show that it was made especially for the king as a gift of honor. The brooch is in its original case from the Würzburg jeweler Lucas Lortz (Royal Bavarian Court Jeweler since 09.04.1889). The clasp of the case is also in the shape of the Bavarian royal crown.
