Replica of the signet ring of Martin Luther.
Hallmarked 750 yellow gold. Ring size 60. 9,9 g.
Replica of Martin Luther's signet ring. An engraved carnelian tablet with Luther's monogram and the Luther rose set in a plain gold ring. The original was a gift from Duke Johann Friedrich I of Saxony (*1503 Torgau †1554 Weimar; 1532 - 1547 Elector of Saxony), a prominent supporter of Luther, which was returned to the House of Wettin by a descendant of the reformer in the 18th century and has been in the collection of today's Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden in the Grünen Gewülbe ever since. On the occasion of Reformation Day 2000, 20 of these rings were produced by the Dresden jewelry house Leicht based on the original. Slight signs of wear on the gold.
Inside additionally stamped with the maker's mark of Juwelier Leicht and the number 12. This refers to the limited number of pieces listed in the enclosed documents (jeweler's certificate and proof of purchase) (ring 12 of a total of 20).
