AHA Joseph Emanuel Weiser (1847 Patschkau/Schlesien - 1911 München) Figuren- und Kompositionsstudien für das Gemälde "Die letzte Zuflucht" Vielfigurige Szene zur Zeit des 30-jährigen Krieges. Karl Woermann beschreibt 1887 im Kat. "Die neueren Gemälde" das 1879 von der Kgl. Gemäldegalerie in Dresden angekaufte Gemälde treffend "Die Verteidigung eines Klosters, in welches Herrschaften und Landvolk sich vor dem Feinde geflüchtet haben. Durch die Thür zur Linken strömen Nonnen und Landleute in den bereits gefüllten Saal. Vorn links haben zwei Damen Platz genommen. In der Mitte rüsten die Mönche sich zur Verteidigung. Ein Kardinal und ein Ritter, welcher einem Mönche die Handhabung des Ladestockes zeigt, erteilen Befehle (...)." Oberhalb hat Weiser drei quer gestellte einzelne Figurenstudien hinzugefügt. Der Künstler studierte bei Wilhelm von Diez an der Münchener Akademie und wurde 1888 Ehrenmitglied der Bayerischen Akademie der Künste. Öl/Lwd.; R. u. sign.; 41 cm x 66 cm. Rahmen. Vgl.
