Commemorative object on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the Reformation. The obverse depicts Martin Luther in profile facing left, the reverse a commemorative depiction on the occasion of the anniversary with an open Bible and other books grouped around it, alluding to Luther's translation of the Bible. The inside covers contain text sheets that provide information about the course of the anniversary celebrations from October 31 to November 2, 1817. Formerly attached to these with small ribbons were 6 double-sided printed, round sheets with copper engravings and rhymed inscriptions, each showing 6 scenes each from the life of Luther and the occasion of the anniversary celebrations. The fanfold is broken in several places.
