"Republique Francais, Liberte-Ecalite-Fraternite, Conseil General du Departement de la Seine Administration...A Paris, Enfants Assistes". Case with signs of wear, torn lid.
* Pillet (Charles Philippe Germain Aristide), medalist, sculptor and engraver, studied at the Academy in Paris, pupil of Henri Michel Antione Chapu and Jules Clément Chaplain, received the Grand Prix de Rome in 1890, 1905 member of the Salon des Artistes Francais, 1898 member of the Société des Artistes Francais, 1911 knight, 1954 Officer of the Legion of Honor, numerous works in the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, including the two bronze reliefs shown here.
