Heavy neoclassical marble pendulum clock with a lion-topped finial.
2nd half of the 19th century
Movement number: No. 1722. Unmarked movement with half-hour chime on a bell. Found to be in working order during a brief test. White enamel dial with blue Roman numerals, minute track, and cathedral hands. Curved glass on the front and back.
Gilded bronze, black marble with green veining. 62 x 49.5 x 19.5 cm.
Standing lion holding a sphere, on a tall stepped pedestal with frieze decoration, rolled foliage, and rose festoons in the Louis XVI style Heavy neoclassical marble pendulum clock with a lion crown. Significant signs of age and wear, dial with defects and retouching, scuffs on the lion. Pendulum with string suspension, no key.
