11 etchings with heliogravure on laid paper. Each with pencil signature. [19]88. Copy: 12/50, printed by Fred Beier.
Cassette folder: 52.5 x 42 cm.
Complete, original cassette-folder with 10 etchings and 1 title-page to a cycle of paintings by Nikolai Makarov - "Painted in muted colours or in the grisaille technique, the paintings of the cycle "The Late Freedom", created between 1984 and 1987, show elderly people depicted [sic!] by Nikolai Makarov alone or in groups. Their resigned posture and facial expressions convey a sense of hopelessness and humbly endured hardship. Crouching in front of a diffuse monochrome background, portrayed frontally or in profile without any accessories, or symbolically united with each other in a boat, the aged individuals of "Late Freedom" convey a metaphorical view of the personal crises of a generation cheated of its life, which will no longer be able to savour its freedom, questions itself and states that it has a score to settle with life."
