Hungarian-US painter, photographer, typographer and stage designer; 1923 - 1928 teacher at the Bauhaus in Weimar and Dessau. He is considered one of the most important artists of modernism: "Technology is an organically developing factor of life. [...] It is no longer possible to imagine life without it, despite the many ways in which it has been distorted by profit interests [...]. [...] It is the most indispensable aid to a standard of living. [...] It could level screaming differences. [...] The slogan is therefore not against technology, but - if it is understood correctly - with it. Through it, man can be liberated, once he finally knows: what for." (Citation: László Moholy-Nagy.
