Map of the German Empire with the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Bohemia, Poland etc. from 1631, inscribed "Nova Totivs Germaniae Descriptio"; probably after an older map by Gerhard Mercator from "Atlas Minor". Buckling, with light damage, small spot in lower right margin.
Dutch cartographer, engraver and publisher. The 11-volume "Atlas Maior" published by the Blaeu family was among the most expensive and lavish atlases of the 17th century
