Baroque bouillon tureen with cotton wool painting. Meissen.
Around 1740.
Height: 10 cm, ø 17,5 cm.
All over rich fine camaieu painting in purple with nine different scenes after Jean Antoine Watteau (1684-1721). Purple mosaic in the mirror. Gold lace borders, gold staffage. The four scenes on the lid are painted on fine gold lace consoles connected by purple tendrils. Sword marks, gold painter's marks. handle restored.
