Rim chips, partial scratches on the decor.
Dublin-based dealer and porcelain painter James Donovan imported ceramic blanks of so-called Pearl ware from English Staffordshire Potteries such as Minton or Spode and then decorated them in his manufactory. The last entry in the local directories of the trader also called "The Emperor of China" dates from 1829.
