Monumental bronze bust: Dionysus Herculaneum
Bronze black patina, light yellow marble base. Circa 1900. unmarked, in the front on the robe red no. "50", and 3 painted floral rosettes, probably Fonderia Summer Napoli. H 47 / 69 cm. 33,2 kg.
Slightly larger than life, very finely chiseled bust of the god of wine with bandage in carefully coiffed hair. The antique original was found in Villa dei Papiri and is in the National Archaeological Museum of Naples. Minimal signs of age/use.
