Great element vase-The air. Meissen.
1860-1880. model no. 327 (new form no. 81612).
Height: 67 cm.
Model by Johann Joachim Kaendler 1741. Reliefed, colorfully painted, gold painted. The body is surrounded by sculpturally modeled figures. Flanked by Juno with peacock and Zephyr, god of west wind. Cupids above and below, frontal a hawk hunting heron in relief. Incised mark, pressed mark, sword mark once deleted. Juno: one arm, scepter, beads on crown restored, Zephyr: one finger glued, half a leg missing, one cloud edge corner restored, cupid below: one leg glued and bumped from below, one small finger restored, two burn cracks at the bottom of the clouds on the back.
The vases were commissioned for the French court of King Louis XV. Meissen manufactory price: 74.000,- Euro * Partner auction Bergmann.
