Depiction of Hercules & Omphale
Copper engraving on laid paper.
Print plate: 41.5 x 52.5 cm, sheet: 43 x 55.5 cm.
Mythological scene with Hercules and Omphale, who came to Omphale as a slave. After both fell in love with each other, they got married. In blind love, Hercules did everything Omphale asked: spinning wool and doing other women's work or wearing women's clothes while she wore his lion skin and wooden club. Only after years of delusion Hercules was able to escape the power of Omphale and left her. Mounted on cardboard, soiled, backed tears.
