Side view to the 6.50 m high cubist bronze sculpture of a man with arms stretched to the sky "De verwoeste Stad", unveiled in Rotterdam in 1953. The hole in the place of his heart symbolizes the "heart of the city of Rotterdam", which was destroyed during the bombing of Rotterdam in World War II. Sheet light browned and creased.
Russian-French painter; considered one of the most important artists of cubist sculptures.
