"This was the beginning of a long collaboration with my friend, the "Coordinatore" Alberto Della Vecchia. Until now I had resisted making graphics. What had been created up to that point had been more or less forced. Until Alberto brought me a "Hundertwasser graphic" designed by him. I immediately felt sick: a kitsch that ape me. Nevertheless, it was the decisive impulse to do it better and right. That's how "King Kong" came into being." (Hundertwasser's commentary on the work, from: Hundertwasser 1928-2000, Catalogue Raisonné, vol. 2, Taschen, Cologne 2002, p. 797f; seen here at https://hundertwasser.com/originalgraphik/669_hwg34_king_kong_853). Edge area somewhat bumped.
Austrian painter, graphic artist, architect, illustrator and environmentalist, who received numerous honors and awards: "On a rainy day, the colors begin to shine. That's why a dull day, a rainy day, is the most beautiful day for me." (Quote: FH, www.hundertwasser-museum.de/zitate.html).
