Late Renaissance miniature pendants: Annunciation.
1st half 17th century ROTTENHAMMER, Hans (succession)(1564 Munich - 1625 Augsburg)
Oil/copper plate. Each 13.5 x 10.5 cm.
The praying Mary in front of the table with lily branch and open book turns to the Archangel Gabriel blessing her on the other panel, while über her the dove of the Holy Spirit hovers and sends golden rays to her. The artist paid great attention to the gold decoration, especially in the ornamentally decorated nimbs. The boards are each inscribed below in majuscules: "Ecce Ancilla Domini" and "Ave Gratia Plena". Small traces of creases at the edge, some retouching, a few signs of age / wear.
