After a drawing from 1934; Weber's handwritten text in the planned lithograph index: "The Siren, drawn on stone at Gebr. Sülter Hbg. Caffamachereie [= street in Hamburg; the author. Siren embodies the worried, anxious mother. (Under the roofs) the sleeping ones - waking the children - whimpering - noises - footsteps downstairs - now still 2 prints, stone 1943 destroyed by air raids - bombs. Printed together with Mr. Dibbern.".
German lithographer, draughtsman and painter, he received the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 1971. In 1993, the German Federal Post Office issued a 100 pfennig commemorative stamp with the motif "Audience" in his honor as part of the "German Painting of the 20th Century" series. "I follow an urge and see it as my task to visualize and create what moves me, depresses me, fills me with worry or amuses and amuses me.
