Rare vase "Colored birds in the branches". Meissen.
Heavy mark, ca. 1959, 1st choice. Model no.: T 265. design: Ludwig Zepner (1931-2010) (form), Heinz Werner (1928-2019) (decor).
Underglaze blue painting, polychrome onglaze painting. H 26,5 cm.
In the middle of the 1950s, a core of artists formed around the young manufactory rascals Ludwig Zepner (1931-2010) and Heinz Werner (1928-2019), who came together against numerous external resistances and prejudices to form an artistic community and stood for their own and modern (the later "Collective Artistic Development").
From the joint works of the young artists, this vase stands out in particular. The bottle-like curved vase body by Ludwig Zepner was discreetly decorated by Heinz Werner with "colored birds in the branches". Delicate red, green and black bird silhouettes gymnastics in gossamer branches. This is a very early design by the twenty-seven year old form designer Ludwig Zepner, who later advanced (along with Heinz Werner) to become the leading head of the artistic department of the Meissen manufactory.
