Model by Jean Auguste Barre 1837. Elssler, Austrian dancer, 1810-1884, as Florinda in Casimir Gide's ballet "Le Diable Boiteux". Painted in colors, painted in gold. Incised mark, press mark, painter's mark, sword mark.
Barre, sculptor and painter, studied at the Academy in Paris. 1842 Knight of the Legion of Honor, also known for fine life-like statuettes of the dancers of the Paris Opera. Meissen manufactory price: 15000, - Euro * Partner auction Bergmann.
