3 elaborately decorated caskets.
2nd half of the 19th century
Veneered/marquetted with various materials (mostly Amboyna burl, partly rosewood and ebony as well as bone, mother-of-pearl, brass, silver-colored metal), inside silk of various colors. Maximum dimensions 9 x 33 x 11 cm.
Elongated, square and rectangular casket. 1x engraved monogram "JL" on a coat of arms-shaped cartouche, 1x on a slightly domed hinged lid with engraving "DF" on the cartouche, 1x empty central cartouche. Each with padded interior, 1x with compartments and mirror in the lid. 1x minimal veneer defects, 1x slight dry crack on the lid, 1 lock replaced, silk 2x somewhat worn, each with few signs of age/use.
