Lion's head sabre for officers.
1st half of the 19th century. Prussia.
Blade L 83 cm, total L 99 cm.
Single-edged, strongly curved blade with pandur point and gold inlays of 'Turk's head', polearms, stars and crescent moon on both sides of the blade. Semicircular guard plates covered with horn and an empty escutcheon. Grip ring with oak leaves in relief. Rayskin grip and pommel with lion and lion skin (Nemean lion). Metal scabbard with two brass-colored bands and movable rings. Very beautiful condition.
