Around 1900, dealer's mark "J. E. Caldwell & Co. Philadelphia".
"Made in France" marked brass plate movement with top balance, anchor escapement, hour/half-hour strike on round gong, alarm strike on round gong, keywind. Functional in short time test. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, minute ring, spade hands and sub-dial for alarm.
H 17.5 cm. 1553 g.
5-sided faceted glazed brass case with curved bow handle. Separate pusher for hour repeater. Signs of age, glass partly chipped.
