German sculptor, medalist and graphic artist who was the second woman after Käthe Kollwitz to be admitted to the Deutscher Künstlerbund. Under the National Socialist dictatorship, her work was defamed as "degenerate". She modeled the model for the Berlinale Prize, the "Berlinale Bear".
