Polish painter, art theorist, graphic artist and writer of Expressionism, studied simultaneously at the Jagiellonian University and the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. From 1907 to 1910 he studied in Paris and Switzerland, finally moving to Munich in 1913. He was based in Warsaw from 1926 and published underground magazines there during the German occupation.
