Hussar officer's sabre with bird's head pommel.
Probably 18th century.
Blade L 87 cm, total L 100 cm.
Heavily curved, single-edged blade with pommel point, reinforced back and two narrow fullers. Lower third blued and engraved, partially gilt. Iron hilt with bird's head pommel and oval in the flat guard. Leather grip with twisted wire. Metal scabbard smooth on one side, triple fluted on the other. Two movable rings. Scabbard with corrosion pits.
