Small sword for cuirassier officers.
Prussia.
Blade L 83 cm, total L 99 cm.
Also known as a cuirassier officer's interim sword. Straight single-edged blade, the first third blued and engraved with remnants of gilding, "I.G.B." Three deliberate notches near the grip. Heart-shaped, slightly curved guard plate with a shell end, straight quillons protruding through one end of the guard plate. Ball pommel with seal plate. Grip of fine wire winding, probably originally covered. Black leather scabbard with missing point socket.
