Schlitt, genre painter, watercolorist and illustrator. Studied at the academy in Munich, participated in almost all important art exhibitions in Munich from 1879-1917. He became famous for his fairy tale illustrations and above all for his fantasy paintings of forest dwarves and gnomes. He worked as a decor designer for the stoneware manufacturer Villeroy and Boch.
