Munkácsy (actually Michael Leo Lieb) came from the Bavarian Lieb family, who had lived in Hungary for 200 years. Portrait, genre and landscape painter, draughtsman, studied in Budapest, Munich, Vienna, Paris and Düsseldorf. 1872-1896 active in Paris, represented at the Salon exhibitions there, Hungarian title of nobility in 1878, resident in Budapest since 1896, works in international museums * Partner auction Bergmann.
