Copper enamel with green background, enamel painting in white cartouches. 3.5 x 8 x 6 cm.
Cuboid box with cambered lid. Inscribed battle formation on the lid, bataille painting with cavalry, infantry, tent camp and cannons on the lid. Bivouac scenes with tents, cannons and soldiers on all sides, a white branch of flowers on the bottom. Box body white inside. Defects and hairline cracks.
The battle took place on October 1, 1756 during the Seven Years' War between the Prussian and Imperial Austrian armies. King Frederick II of Prussia defeated the Austrians, who had tried in vain to come to the aid of the Saxon army trapped near Pirna.
