Baroque tabatiere with Watteau painting.
18th century
Copper enamel with white background, enamel painting, copper mounting with remnants of gilding. 4 x 8 x 6.5 cm.
Ashlar body with cambered hinged lid and decorated mounting. Grisaille landscapes on all sides, including the base, some with people in color. On the lid a gallant couple; in the lid portrait of a young lady with parasol. Hairline cracks, a few traces of age/use, portrait background partly retouched.
