Charlotte Amalie Kindt (1796 Bremen - 1867 Bremen, née von Kapff, wife of Georg Christian Kindt (1793 Lübeck - 1869 Bremen), with her children Ludolph Ludwig (1821-1842), Friedrich Ludolph (1823-1867), Marianne Christine (1824-1832), Christian (1825-1902) and Johann Hermann (1827-1846). Georg Christian Kindt was a well-known pharmacist and naturalist; according to the enclosed card, Wilhelm von Kügelgen lived with the Kindt family as a guest and painted Charlotte Amalie Kindt with her five children. Original wide gilded stucco frame. Craquelé, frame slightly defective.
Kügelgen, portrait and history painter, writer, son and pupil of Gerhard von Kügelgen, studied at the academy in Dresden. 1833 court painter to Duke Alexius of Anhalt-Bernburg, 1853 chamberlain, active in various European cities * Partner auction Bergmann.
