Sceptre mark and eagle mark, circa 1830. signed "J. Forst fe." (= Johann Hubert Forst, 1756 - 1830 traceable).
Polychrome painted, gilt. H 41 cm. 4.4 kg.
Crater vase with two handles and round foot, on a square plinth. Finely floral and ornamentally etched gold ground, on both sides a large rectangular cartouche with the inscribed views of the Brauhausberg and the new palace in Potsdam. Accompanied by the catalog of the "6th Art and Antiques Fair Hanover" 1974 with illustration of the vase, a photo of the vase at the antiques fair and a description of the artist. Partially minimal gold rubbing, small bump on the underside.
