Flat weave in dyed wool. Approx. 196 x 131 cm.
Wall hanging with a wide landscape and historicizing figures hunting. Narrow border strip with floral decoration.
Cesare Agostino Detti (1848 Spoleto-1914 Paris): Italian painter, best known for his historical genre scenes from the 17th and 18th centuries, which were inspired by the troubadour style.
Provenance : The tapestry was acquired when Wörth Castle on the Danube was dissolved and then hung for decades in the "parlor" of a large Upper Palatinate farming family.
