Small silk carpet with tree of life.
1st half 20th century Anatolia.
Silk on wool, finely hand-knotted, monochrome decoration in antique design with predominantly ivory, brown tones and midnight blue. Approx. 176 x 125 cm.
Central vase motif with a multi-tiered tree of life with various flowers and exotic birds. Multi-row border with palmettes and floral tendrils. Short kilim finishes with partly twined fringes. Replaced, partially incomplete suspension loops on the verso. Signs of age and wear, fringed ends repaired.
