Pompous tureen with "Möllendorf decoration". Meissen.

Width: 38.5 cm, height: 26.5 cm.
Relief rocaille cartouches with symbols of science, art and military triumph alternating with flowering branches. Painted in iron red and gold with a scale rim, toothed edge and Indian flowering branches. Open-worked handles with female heads in relief on the sides, sculpted crown with various musical instruments. Unglazed base, impressed marks, painter's mark, sword mark with dot.
The service was commissioned by Frederick II in 1761 and given as a gift to General Wichard von Möllendorf in 1781 * Partner auction Bergmann.
