Prints entitled "Peccati mortisque triumphator Christus" by Giovanni Marco Alvise Pitteri (1702-1786) after Piazetta can be found in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam and in the National Gallery, Washington, D.C. A copy (oil on wood) painted by Anton Cebej (1722-after 1774) can be found in the Slovenian monastery of Bistra. Mint stretcher, wide gilded stucco frame first half 19th century. Doubled.
Piazetta, portrait, genre and history painter, pupil of Antonio Molinari. Around 1742 he drew a series of 15 heads: Christ, Virgin Mary, God the Father and 12 apostles. 1750 Director of the Accademia di belle arti in Venice, one of the most important Venetian painters of the 18th century * Partner auction Bergmann.
