Light artillery sabre for officers, Saxony.
Back of blade: "Rich. Döhler, Dresden".
Overall length 95 cm. 1 kg.
Slightly curved single-edged blade, with reinforced back line and fuller. Gilt pattern etching with the Saxon coat of arms and the motto "Providentiae Memor" as well as the crowned coat of arms for Friedrich August Rex. Grip with wire winding and chequering, lion's head pommel with red glass eyes, knucklebow with the Saxon coat of arms and crossed cannons on the guard plate. Metal scabbard with a ring and an eyelet. Portepee made of gold threads.
