Imberton, J. P.: active between 1875 and 1891, glass decorator, collaborator of Philippe-Joseph Brocard, from 1882 he traded as an enamel painter in Paris, he mastered the decorative techniques of glass design to perfection. He created and reproduced ornamental ensembles, which he painted on glass with polychrome enamel, inspired by Egyptian, Syrian, Persian and Islamic artists of the 12th to 14th centuries. He decorated vases, dinner services and mosque lamps in the Moorish style. Renaissance works and nature itself were also sources of inspiration for him.
His paintings in relief enamel, which he mainly applied to glass, are of exceptional delicacy. He also created some extremely rare lead glass windows with Persian-inspired decorations.
In the early years of his career, Imberton worked with the glass decorators and enamellers A. Buncon and Dupontieux. Imberton's works were presented and awarded prizes at several world exhibitions (1878 Paris/Bronze Medal, 1883 Amsterdam/Gold Medal, 1888 Brussels/Diploma of Honor, 1888 Barcelona/Gold Medal, 1889 Paris).
