1895-1900. Movement No. 1 million 55467.
Marked full plate movement with Graham movement. Functional in short time test. White enamel dial with blue Roman hours and black Arabic minutes, minute ring and Louis XV hands.
Walnut, gilt bronze. H 42 cm. 2.2 kg.
Rococo-style Wilhelminian-style table clock with architectural case, wide curved base, free-swinging pendulum and hipped roof with crowning bird's nest (stork missing). Richly decorated with foliage, rocailles and winged putti. Crowning with replaced, bronzed metal casting, dial with defects.
The so-called stork clocks from Lenzkirch were not produced on a large scale, as they were aimed at a smaller, well-heeled group of buyers. With the stork's nest and the stork as a symbol for offspring and the blessing of children, they were ordered as wedding clocks for bridal couples. With pendulum, without key.
