Art Nouveau figure group with antique youth and 6 women. Martin Wiegand, Munich.
Press marks of the artist Martin Wiegand and his kiln manufactory, from 1910. 2x signed "M Wiegand" on the base, indistinctly dated(?) "[19]29".
Faience, painted in color. H 40 cm.
A man in antique-style garb standing on a rectangular plinth, 6 ladies decorated with flowers in adoring poses at his sides. Ebonized plinth frame loosely attached. Fire cracked, partially hairline cracked and bumped, partly retouched.
Martin WIEGAND (1867 Ilmenau - 1961 Munich): Painter, sculptor and draughtsman at the Dresden Academy of Art, from 1910 in Munich with studio and kiln in Nymphenburg.
