Large classicist lidded goblet with elegant handles, on a round foot and square plinth. Decorated with bands of pearl ribbon , engraved flower garlands, engraved coat of arms on the front and the banner "Lux Anglis Crux Francis", probably attributable to the Rooper family. From the time of George II. Dents and some solder joints.
Elizabeth Godfrey (active 1720-1766) supplied the nobility with high-quality silver and gold work and was regarded as an outstanding goldsmith of the 18th century (https://nmwa.org/art/collection/george-ii-tea-caddy/).
