Corten steel with patina of stainless steel, figure with engraved lines on both sides, slightly angled at the bottom of the figure and welded onto the base plate made of Corten steel. 4 holes at the corners for the ground pegs made of reinforcing steel. Unmarked. H 221 cm, base plate 67 x 90 cm.
Similarly compressed silhouette of a standing man with discreet engraved lines, concentrating on the essentials. The rust patina creates an iridescent, warm brown hue.
Horst Antes studied painting under HAP Grieshaber at the Karlsruhe Academy, where he later became a professor. He became famous for his cephalopods, which he painted and also sculpted. All lots with a limit (starting price) of at least €1,500 are checked against the Art Loss Register database.
