Model year: 1920, painted in color. Original porcelain dial with Arabic numerals in relief, original porcelain pendulum bob. Lenzkirch movement with striking mechanism on bell, key winding, mounted ball feet. Incised press mark, painter's mark, sword mark, press mark: of 5 original pieces no. 5, handwritten artist's signet, dated: 1920. The production of original pieces (artist's copies) was introduced in 1918. The shaping and staffing of these copies was supervised or reworked by the artist himself. This is why masterpieces are usually signed by the artist himself in overglaze paint. Firing cracks testify to the technical difficulties involved in the production of original pieces. Several cracks through the base in the middle and on the sides, small break at the base bottom, small paint flake in the middle of the base, one cupid with repaired firing cracks on the wrist and lower body, one cupid with hairline crack on the legs and cloth, pendulum with hairline crack on the underside, pendulum mount replaced, clockwork defective, one hand and key missing.
Scheurich, graphic artist, painter and sculptor, studied at the academy in Berlin. From 1912 first works for Meissen, KPM Berlin and Nymphenburg, 1923 professor. Meissen manufactory price: 33,000 euros * Partner auction Bergmann.
