The siege of the city of Bonn in 1689 took place in the course of the Cologne Bishopric Dispute, a conflict over the occupation of the archbishopric of Cologne, which in the course of its political significance developed into a theater of the War of the Palatinate Succession (1688-1697). In October 1689, allied troops from Brandenburg-Prussia, the United Netherlands, the Holy Roman Empire and the Hochstift Münster were able to capture the city occupied by the French.
The second view shows the first siege of Schweidnitz during the Seven Years' War (1756-1763). After a two-week siege by Austrian troops, the Prussian commander von Seers decided to surrender the city. Cracked at the edges.
