4/4 violin with bow in black case. Seidel or Dodd Germany.
Violin inside lettering (brand stamp?), bow marked "DODD Germany". Violin 19th century, bow 2nd half 20th century
Frame and split back each flamed maple, split spruce top with one purfling, fingerboard probably oak, tailpiece brown hardwood, chinrest beechwood. Pernambuco bow? Case with leather cover. Body 35.5 cm, L bow 72.5 cm. Total weight 2.7 kg.
In need of restoration (back detached over a large area, small top crack at the soundhole), pegbox glued, probably old glued small top crack next to the fingerboard. Bow not warped. Case with strong signs of age/use.
