Chasseurs à cheval de la Garde impériale. Curved, single-edged blade with a point in the back and a broad fuller (Montmorency blade). 3 indistinct inspection marks, one of them a "G". Marked on the back. "(Manufac)ture Imp. du Klingenthal mars 1811". Ribbed leather grip with partially missing wire winding, brass hilt, "2RLF" scratched by hand on the long grip cap, stamped on the quillons: "R. Saille(s)", "J" in an oval ring and other indistinct marks. White leather portepee. Brass scabbard with recesses in which leather parts, probably replaced at a later date, are visible. Two movable rings. On drag plate hallmark "N" in a circle.
