Modernist designer brooch by the Merano jeweler and artist Anton Frühauf, set with various coloured stones, probably white sapphires, emeralds and rubies.
Anton Frühauf came from a family of jewelers (his grandfather was an imperial and royal court jeweler) and won various prizes for his designs. Pieces of his jewelry are exhibited in various museums around the world: e.g. MFA Boston, which houses 16 of his pieces of jewelry, some of them very similar in style, in its collection (https://collections.mfa.org/search/Objects/peopleSearch%3AFr%C3%BChauf/*).
