Scottish percussion pistol with brass handle.
Mid 19th century.
L 30 cm.
Very finely crafted piece with 'ramshorn' shaft, handle with finely chased ornaments with acanthus leaves and trophy pieces. Pommel with unscrewable 'nipple pick' for cleaning the firing channel. Ball trigger, ramrod with eyelet and long belt hook (carbine). Barrel octagonal at the front end with engraved pattern and slightly flared muzzle. The lock with hammer is in the middle of the weapon and not on the side as usual. This makes the weapon very slim and elegant.
