Large Laeuger lidded vase "Lemons". Karlsruhe majolica.

Height: 51 cm.
Painted in green, yellow and black. Lid with sculpted lion as a crown. Impression marks. Tail bumped, in parts loose, tongue bumped.
* Laeuger, architect, designer, sculptor, painter, studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Karlsruhe. Taught there from 1884, professor in 1894. 1897-1914 Head of the artistic ceramics department of the Kandern clay works. 1907 Founding member of the Deutscher Werkbund. 1916-1944 own ceramic studio in Karlsruhe, 1921-1929 employee of the Majolika manufactory in Karlsruhe.
